Spring is coming
Spring is well on its way here. The brooks are running bank full as the snow slowly melts, the fields are free of snow for the first time since Christmas and many birds have begun to return.

We have enjoyed a great Maine winter and I hope that yours has been enjoyable as well. We have had snow since the first of the year and more than enough to make for some excellent snowshoeing conditions. My work as the executive director of the Maine Professional Guides Association and chair of the board of the Maine Tourism Association has kept me busy enough to appreciate the time that I do get outside.
This winter is already off to a great start with several good snowstorms here in the mid coast of Maine. We have had over a foot of snow on the ground since New Years Day, we had some rain that settled the snow but more is in the forecast for the coming weekend. As the days get longer I am looking forward to leading a few winter nature exploration trips on snowshoes.
