This morning there can be no doubt that winter is here. I woke up at 5 a.m. with only a little snow on the ground but it was snowing steadily. By the time Argy and I went for a walk there were three or 4 inches. By late morning there is every bit of 6 inches. The current forecast calls for 12 to 18 inches of snow before this all winds down tomorrow. The wind is very strong out of the northeast out over the water but we are protected by the hill just to our east and do not get much drifting or the wind chill. It's cold enough to snow but after several days of early morning temperatures in the low teens it was nearly 30° when I got up this morning. Sort of a warm up with snow.
It is just another day in the office for me but with most places closed or folks not coming in both e-mail and the telephone are not much of an interruption. I plan to take advantage of the next few quiet days and begin working on my advertising plan for the coming year. Maybe I’ll get out the cross-country skis in anticipation of having enough snow to use them before Christmas for the first time in several years.
