The spectacular early fall weather continues. Our days have been picture perfect. Bright sunshine, little wind and temperatures around 70. As you can see the leaves have started to change and that will only get better for the next few weeks.
Yesterday I guided a fisherman in the morning and a scenic trip in the afternoon. Both in near perfect conditions but it was interesting to note that at this early stage in the color change that it is much more impressive when you are up close, rather than at a distance. Something about it being more personal and impressive when you are only a few yards away.
Loons have begun to migrate to the salt water and are sometimes in flocks where the fishing is good like the bunch in this picture. Loons are normally almost solitary but in the early fall small flocks are almost the norm in this area.
Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to the next few weeks on the water and the normal improvement in the fishing as cooler temperatures begin to prevail.
