his morning the field across the street from our house (and my office) was mowed. Quite an improvement in the view. But that cutting of hay marks a mid point in the summer for sure. I got the message yesterday that next winters firewood will be showing up this week another sure sign that cooler days are on the horizon.
There are lots of eagles around right now and I was able to capture the video above while on a Scenic Maine Coast Boat Trip Saturday afternoon. Great fun that the young bird was willing to perform so close to the boat!
We have had some hot and humid weather lately but only a couple of days before that we needed a small fire in the woodstove to warm the place up for comfort. One thing is certain about Maine weather it is different almost every day.
Stripers are in their mid summer pattern (which is to say mostly grumpy) but getting out and chasing them on even the hottest days provides a visit to much cooler temperatures.
I am guiding almost every day; mostly with folks I have seen before and am finding the changes in procedures are not too much of a burden. Maine continues to have very low infection rates and in light of our success the list of states that are allowed to visit without a test before arrival has been extended. I am hopeful that if you are looking to visit Maine it is possible for you.
Even if you can't make it this summer know that like the scenery and lobster rolls we will be here when you are able to visit.
As always come write or call if I can answer any questions. Oh and take a minute and get outside with your family this holiday weekend, you will be glad you did!
Best regards,
