When I pulled out of the driveway last week I was surprised to see one of the red maples across the street has started to change color. Then I had to go to Augusta and drove past the marsh near Traveler Pond in Coopers Mills where all of the maples are already bright red. As I look out across the hills today the trees have definitely begun to change their colors. It is for the most part subtle but there for sure if you look carefully. Autumn is here for sure and fall is not far off.
 

The weather the past few weeks has been hot and humid, in fact everything feels sticky from the humidity. The perch and sunfish fishing continues to amaze me. After a couple of boys a while back claiming that they had caught 75 fish on an afternoon trip I have been watching the count very closely. Last week a young girl had a counted 26 fish to her credit and we spent a fair amount of time riding up and down the pond making a cooling breeze while looking for a spot to fish in the shade.

Yesterday was one of those cold rainy days that we sometimes have in the summer. I was working in the office and was not really affected (just luck that I did not have a trip scheduled). By around two in the afternoon I realized that I was sitting at my desk with a fleece jacket on and still cold. There was only one thing to do, light a fire in the wood stove. I did and the office warmed right up not to mention chasing the dampness out of the air.
