Spring is well on its way here. The brooks are running bank full as the snow slowly melts, the fields are free of snow for the first time since Christmas and many birds have begun to return. This week Argy and I were on our evening walk and I commented that the woodcock should be back soon, no sooner were the words out of my mouth and we could hear that unmistakable twitter overhead. They are back!
The ice is starting to go in the ponds and is pretty much gone from the river like every spring there are flocks of ducks and geese right at the edge of the melting ice I am sure all headed further north and trying to hurry the thaw so that they can continue on. In the next few weeks I hope to launch a boat and get back on the water. My winter of meetings and events as the Executive Director for the Maine Professional Guides Association has been busy, we have had great winter weather but I am ready for spring to arrive.
Hope that you are able to get out and enjoy the approaching spring!

Join us at the banquet!
Each April the Maine Professional Guides Association holds its annual meeting and banquet, always a great time and more guides in one place than you can find anywhere. This year we will have the new Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as our speaker, a good meal and a fund raising auction. It would be great to see you at the banquet at Jeff's Catering in Brewer Maine on the evening of April 9th at 5:30. You can get tickets or more details from Jeff Bellmore at 207-273-3818. If you are able to attend please plan to sit with Argy and I.

Looking forward to teaching fly fishing!
The snow is slowly going and the ice is beginning to melt in the local ponds. I am eager to launch a boat and get back to some fishing. The thing that I look forward to the most is teaching fly fishing lessons to beginners. There is nothing like having someone develop a new skill in a morning of afternoon right before your eyes. A new way to share Maine memories
The Maine Tourism Association just launched a new application called Memoir Share your Maine memories. I have long considered myself to be in the business of creating memories like these. This is a new way to share memories with others who have visited or are planning to visit Maine. I am looking forward to seeing what my clients and others share about their trips and where the memories are created.
