Fall in Maine is without a doubt the best season. As you can see the leaves are turning (and starting to peak) in our area.
Weather can be warm and sunny as forecast for the next several days or damp and dreary. Although I must admit that damp and dreary sure makes the fall color stand out. Like in these images.
Fishing can be fabulous at times as water temperatures cool for the next six weeks or so.
Yesterdays learn to fly fish trip was a load of fun despite the dampness left behind by the departing northeaster. A couple of fish cooperated and found the flies to be of interest. I have been on several local ponds over the past week and am surprised as always at how few folks are on the water taking advantage of the beautiful weather and scenery.
Gradually the woodstoves become more central to our lives demanding a little more attention each week until the fires simply do not go out. I enjoy the slower pace especially now that I am not racing off to the Noth Maine Woods to guide grouse hunters each week. Still going for a few days of fun but not the long days of guiding.
Come write or call if I can help you create your outdoor adventure as the cooler weather begins. Or make your reservation online at this link.
I'm looking forward to sharing some time on the water with you before the snow flies!
Best regards,
