Turning the corner today

Until today October has felt a lot like a summer month. Warm and dry with little wind. The leaves started to change color, but the air did not feel much like fall. This morning though we were greeted with a spectacular sunrise followed by rain showers and a wind shift at high tide. The change is remarkable; the air has a chill to it and the breeze is notable. Fall is here! Time to put the glass in the storm doors.

I will miss the extended summer that is for sure but really it is past time to get on with the fall transition. I for one am looking forward to cooler mornings and a nip in the air. I will still be fishing on freshwater for about another six of so weeks and I am looking forward to every day on the water. Although I am not looking forward to those early morning starts that require a headlamp!
