This week has been a pleasant pause in a normally busy summer. A few cancellations, some weather related some travel related combined to provide open days in my calendar. Which worked out nicely; I had a chance to spend a little more time than normal with this summer's intern. Who is here as part of the Maine Tourism Association’s summer internship program. The only downside is that he probably thinks what I do mostly is just go fishing even if it has been true for the last couple of days. What I'm really doing is trying to figure out the pattern that the fish are in and where they are. Something that I'm sure looks like magic but takes more than a little time and effort to have as part of my repertoire.
Argy and I even spent a night glamping on our son's island in one of the nearby ponds. For those who do not know glamping is camping without having to lug all of your gear and even sleeping in a bed in a large canvas wall tent. True luxury!
Next week is back to normal with trips scheduled every day and some days two. Lots of family fishing trips and many kids going to catch their first fish with me in the next week. It is my favorite part of being a guide.
Fishing has been good for the most part all summer. Stripers are in the Saint George in decent but not great numbers. Fresh water has been extraordinary on almost every trip. Including a couple of recent fly-fishing trips for bass that were an absolute pleasure to be on. Hopefully you have time to fit at least one trip into your schedule before the summer is over.
You can make a reservation for a trip at this link. I hope to see each of you again this summer.
As always come write or call if i can help you create your outdoor memories.
Best regards,
