We had quite a winter and the spring was cold and wet. Now we are being rewarded with the beautiful summer days we were all hoping for.
As you would expect all of this great weather has me very busy with many fly fishing trips and starting next week several family fishing trips. All is as it should be in the Maine Outdoors.
Except you have not yet made a plan to get outdoors this summer. E-mail me today and let's make that plan! |

Loons up close
The best of spring fishing is underway with sight fishing for nesting bass; great fun with a fly rod. As I move along the shoreline searching for those beds I meet the loons who are right now searching out their nesting sites. I see at least a few every trip out some near familiar nest sites others in places I am surprised to see them.

Eagles out of the nest!
It is easy to mark the progression of the season by the things that happen outdoors and today was one of those annual milestones. I was on a striper fishing trip and in the course of the morning passed three eagle nests. Fishing near the first nest I could see two heads over the side for a few minutes. As we passed the second both chicks were out of the nest perched on a nearby limb.
