Two weeks ago I wrote that spring was coming. Today we just took a big step backwards. Well over a foot of wet heavy snow fell in Union yesterday. I won't bore you with the details only a picture looking out across the field Friday afternoon.
Needless to say my hopes of an early start to the fishing and canoeing season have been dashed at least temporarily! Of course spring and eventually summer will be here soon enough and it is time to start making plans for your next Maine Outdoors outing. Drop me an email or give me a call and let's plan a date. Or at least you can tell me how many flowers are blooming in your garden.
New Highway Signs!
After twenty or so years the directional signs on Route 17 and the North Union Road needed to be replaced along with the one out front. All of them are now new, sporting a design provided by Jerry Joly of Joly signs here in Union. I have already heard from several folks that they like the new look. Take a minute and stop by I would love to hear your comments.
Eagle Watching
You can watch eagles on a trip with Maine Outdoors fishing or exploring on one of the local lakes, on the Saint George River on a saltwater boat trip or now from the comfort of your own desk. Check out the Bio Diversity Research Institutes Eaglecam. Interesting for sure but not nearly as much fun as a day on the water where the smell of pines, the warm sun and interesting interpretation are part of the experience. Not to mention all of the other things we might see like loons, ospreys or even a mink.
