I have been hearing rumors of stripers in the Saint George and after a great morning on the Kennebec with Captain George Harris on Tuesday I was pretty excited to give it a try. The good news 
is that yes there are a few the bad news is that for the moment it is like the last few summers the fish are spotty and take a lot of effort to find.
Perfect blue skies a moderate northerly breeze, warm temperatures and we had the place to ourselves. Unless you count a few eagles, an otter, a muskrat and a number of smaller birds. We 
even stopped by a beaver lodge and smelled the castor that gives beavers their name.
After worrying this spring that the summer would be dry the weather has taken care of that. We have had plenty of rain over the last couple of weeks including some real drenchings. No more need to worry about not having enough water in the Saint George River that is for sure.
