Geese!

Cold and raining this morning one of those early spring days that would almost be better as a snowstorm. Luckily the wind is not blowing at the moment but the forecast calls for a strong wind tonight and tomorrow as the storm pulls away. I have a meeting in Bangor tonight so rain is preferable to snow just this once, I have driven home from Bangor in the dark during a snowstorm and can report that it is not any fun at all.
When I drove back to the office from the post office this morning I saw the first flock of geese in one of the fields along the North Union Road. There must have been at least a hundred birds in that flock. So slowly but surely spring is coming. In fact I noticed yesterday that the ice has gone from Round Pond at the north end where the river current is strongest and Seven Tree Pond is ice free where the river current runs as well. I know that the first warm sunny day will find have me putting a canoe in that open water and doing a little paddling.
My work as a lobbyist has begun to slow down some and hopefully we can see the end of the legislative session coming. I am looking forward to being able to concentrate on the fun part of my year. I sent an electronic newsletter to all of my clients from the last three years this morning and have enjoyed very much hearing from some of them. It is always fun to catch up with clients from previous years and hear what they have been up to.
I also firmed up my October plans with Libby Camps this morning so the next couple of seasons are starting to look busy.
